This is my favorite topic, head and neck radiology! There is a lot of critical anatomy in a small amount of space. If your brain is the supercomputer, the neck is your major conduit for the network. There are a ton of nerves in the neck, and vessels, bone with the CT standard to include the top of the lungs and the base of the brain. There’s a heck of lot going on to watch out for. Most head and neck cancers are squamous cell carcinomas. These tumors can catch on to nerves and follow them like a railroad going down the tracks to different organs.
